Digital x-rays - It is now possible to take dental x-rays exposing the patient to as little as one-tenth the amount of radiation of older, conventional x-rays. This is done with the use of digital x-rays that don't use traditional film and don’t need chemicals for development. Sensors plates instead of film are placed in the patient's mouth. These plates are the same size as conventional x-ray film. After exposure and scanning, the image appears on a computer screen in seconds. The resultant digital pictures are as clear as conventional film x-rays and they provide information that was not available before. CorinthDental uses the ScanX Imaging System manufactured by AirTechniques.

Infection Control– We are very proud of our state-of-the-art sterilization area, but we don’t just stop there. We go the extra mile and have third-party sterilization audits to make sure the sterilization procedures are at peak level for your safety. We also use a special water bottle sterilization system that is proven to eliminate bacteria problems. Between each patient, all surfaces, such as the dental chair, dental light, drawer handles and countertops are cleaned and decontaminated with a surface disinfectant. Some equipment is covered with protective barriers, which are replaced after each patient. Protective Gear will be worn by the dentist and staff during all actual patient treatment. Surgical masks, protective eyewear or chin-length plastic face shields, and disposable gloves are worn when splashing or spattering of blood, saliva, or oral secretions is likely. These safety procedures are known as universal precautions. They have been established by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the American Dental Association.

Nitrous Oxide - Also known as laughing gas is one of the safest forms of sedation available and can take the anxiety out of most routine dental procedures to include cleanings. Non-allergenic and non-irritating, most feel the onset effects within minutes and these effects are completely reversed within about 5 minutes of gas termination. This complete reversal allows you to safely drive home or go to work right after your appointment. The gas is administered through a simple rubber hood that rests on your nose providing a feeling of numbness, security, and warmth. If you are known to be claustrophobic, this might not be the choice for you. At or near the end of your treatment, we will provide you with 100% oxygen so you will feel completely normal within 5-10 minutes. At that point, you are 100% ready to independently carry on your life.

Tension Supression System (NTI-TSS) - The N.T.I. Tension Suppression System is a prefabricated mouth splint that a dentist retro-fits to the patient's teeth .  It is completely different from any other type of mouthpiece. This is a device that prevents medically diagnosed migraine pain, tension-type headache, and jaw disorders (TMJ), without drugs or surgery, through the reduction of trigeminally innervated muscular activity. Drs. McQueen and Lee have had a great deal of success treating TMJ pain with the NTI appliance.

Teeth Whitening – Tooth whitening is a process of lightening the color of teeth. The solutions employed have been used in dentistry for many years. The whitening process is most effective on mildly discolored teeth. Darker stains such as those caused by antibiotics take longer to respond to treatment. The degree of whiteness will vary from patient to patient, depending on the structure of the teeth and the duration of the time and system used.Through the use of our take-home trays (Discus Dental products Zoom and NiteWhite) or professional Crest Strips, we’d love to help you get that white smile you’ve always wanted. Come see us so we can recommend what is best for you.

Intra-oral Camera - A camera on a pen-like unit. It provides a magnified view of your teeth, gums, and oral cavity in multicolor video images. This wonderful new technology allows you to relax in your chair while simultaneously observing a real-time movie of the inside of your mouth magnified beyond normal size on an adjacent computer monitor. Not only does this make it simple to see and understand what is happening in your mouth, but it makes it simple for us to keep incredibly accurate records from one visit to the next. CorinthDental uses the ViperCam intra-oral camera system.

Extra-oral Camera - Dr McQueen uses the Canon 10D for extra-oral dental pictures (before and after pictures, pictures for laboratory purposes). The D10 uses the CMOS chip and captures 6.3 megapixel resolution images while maintaining excellent color balance and exposure control. Canon designed the 10D to be compatible with most of their EOS 35mm camera accessories, including the Canon MR-14EX macro ring flash and the Canon MT-24EX dual point flash. This allows E-TTL (evaluative through-the-lens) flash metering for automatic exposure on complicated oral photography.

Entertainment Units - Listen to your favorite CD or watch television on the LCD flat panel monitors in our treatment rooms and consultation area. Patients can catch up on the soaps, the news, sporting event, or the any other channel options on our local cable system. We even have the Disney Channel,Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network for the kids. Just ask for the remote, sit back and enjoy!
